Dr. George Nasr is an interventional cardiologist specializing in advanced interventional procedures and comprehensive outpatient heart care in the Long Beach area, where he is also affiliated with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center & St. Mary's Long Beach Medical Center. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He has expertise in preventing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions — from routine risk factor management to complex coronary interventions, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support.
Dr. Nasr completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at UC Irvine, where he served as Chief Fellow, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at UC Irvine specializing in high-risk PCI, intravascular imaging, and coronary physiology.
An active clinician-researcher, Dr. Nasr has authored peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on acute coronary syndromes, peripheral artery disease, and left atrial appendage closure. His work has appeared in Cardiology Clinics, JACC, JSCAI, and PLOS ONE. He has presented nationally at SCAI, ACC, ASE, and CRT.
Dr. Nasr has been recognized with numerous awards for clinical excellence, leadership, and teaching — including multiple Fellow of the Year honors, the Simply Better Award for compassionate care, and most recently the Newcomer Physician of the Year (2025–2026) at St. Mary's Medical Center, Long Beach.

Proficient in interpreting ambulatory ECG monitoring, including Holter monitors, loop recorders, and event monitors for arrhythmia diagnosis and management.
Diagnostic coronary angiography, right heart catheterization, hemodynamic assessment, and pressure wire evaluation (FFR, iFR, RFR) for precise lesion characterization.
Board certified in adult clinical echocardiography. Proficient in conducting and interpreting transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) as well as performing and interpreting transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
Competent in IVUS and OCT for vessel sizing, plaque characterization, stent optimization, and guidance of complex coronary interventions.
Proficient in CFR/IMR and acetylcholine coronary reactivity testing for evaluation of microvascular angina and coronary vasospasm.
Expertise in SPECT and PET imaging for ischemic evaluation and myocardial viability studies. Nuclear cardiology board eligible (pending 2026).
Capable of performing and interpreting both exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, alongside SPECT and PET nuclear imaging for ischemia evaluation.
Experienced in performing and interpreting tilt-table testing for evaluation of syncope, POTS, and dysautonomia syndromes.

When indicated, Dr. Nasr performs cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT), and hemodynamic assessment (FFR/iFR) for precise lesion evaluation.
